The European Coordination Via Campesina and Mundbat are organising an “Online course on peasants’ rights!” that will take place online from the 22 November 2024 until the 30 January 2025. Registrations are now open until the 19 November.
Who can participate?
The course is aimed at rights-holders from all over Europe, with a specific focus on actors from the Valencian Community and the Autonomous Community of Navarre. We welcome farmers' organisations and other entities representing people working in rural areas, individuals working in rural areas involved in the production, transformation and commercialisation phases, members of social collectives and movements, human rights defenders. We especially encourage the participation of migrants and refugees working in the primary sector and women farmers.
How is the course structured?
The course will take place between the 22 November 2024 and the 30 January 2025 , and it offers an in-depth analysis of the reality of peasants’ rights and the United Nations Declaration on the rights of peasants and other people working in rural areas (UNDROP) in Europe and in the global south.
The course is structured into four modules for self-learning and three live webinars (22 November 2024, 13 December 2024, 17 January 2025) to deepen and discuss together with peasants from La Via Campesina and human rights experts the topics presented in the modules. More information can be downloaded from the Invitation document.
Register here before the 19 November! Places are limited.
