EU Food Justice Forum

5 May 2026

The Forum will bring together civil society, policymakers, researchers and international organisations to discuss how to advance the right to food in a context of growing global crises. The Forum aims to strengthen political momentum for more just and sustainable food systems, linking EU internal and external policies, global governance and grassroots perspectives.

ECVC is a supporting organisation and will take part in several important sessions. In Plenary 2 on Cooperation for Global Food Systems Transformation, ECVC will share the views of small farmers and food sovereignty, including how EU policies, free trade deals, and conflicting policies affect local and regional food systems. In Plenary 3 on Agrarian Reform in the EU for Food and Climate Justice, ECVC will emphasise the importance of land access, agricultural reform, and sustainable farming methods in the context of ICARRD+20 and global cooperation. ECVC will also join Workshop D on Seed Diversity and Farmers’ Rights to discuss current challenges posed by EU seed laws, new genetic techniques, and trade policies, and how these affect farmers in Europe and the Global South.
