On 7 March, ECVC farmers joined European Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development Janusz Wojciechowski, MEPs and other EU officials to discuss the opportunities that increasing the number of farms in Europe can offer, to both address the challenges faced in the EU and across the planet, but also achieve the objectives set out in the European Green Deal and especially its Farm To Fork Strategy.
Speakers at the event included Peter Schmidt, President of the NAT Section of the EESC, Andoni Garcia, farmer and member of the Coordinating Committee of ECVC, Commissioner Janusz Wojciechowski, Geneviève Savigny, ECVC farmer, MEP Thomas Waitz (Greens), Kerli Ats (EESC), ECVC farmer Fergal Anderson, MEP Isabel Carvalhais (S&D), Josep Puxeu Rocamora (EESC), ECVC farmer and CC member Alessandra Turco, MEP Mr Benoit Biteau (Greens).
