Marcinho, as his friends called him, became one of the main Landless leaders in the state of Bahia, highly regarded for his articulation with left-wing parties, social movements and grassroots organizations. In the MST, still as a young man, he took on the national leadership and assumed those tasks for eight years, standing out for his ability to mobilize the masses.
From this side of the Atlantic, with conviction and solidarity, the European peasant movement supports the popular struggle carried out by the MST in Brazil against big capital and agribusiness. Márcio's commitment to collective struggles and the well-being of rural communities will continue to inspire.
Comrade Márcio: You are with us! You are with us! You are with us!
