ECVC shares the call for support and solidarity for our comrades from the MST in Brazil, besieged by the fascist wave that controls the government of that country. In the latest of its offensives against the Landless Rural Workers Movement, the Brazilian government has ordered the eviction of the Paulo Freire Training Center, which has been operating for 20 years in the Normandía settlement in the State of Pernambuco. The eviction will take place on September 19.

 

We ask all sympathizers and defenders of peasant rights and food sovereignty to share the model letter of solidarity that you will find here and to send it, before September 19, to Judge Thiago Antunes, to the Regional Superintendent of INCRA, Marcos Campos and to Paulo Câmara, Governor of the State of Pernambuco.

 

We demand that the eviction order be immediately annulled.
