11 December 2014

Conference at the European Parliament, Room ASP A1G3, on 10th December 2014, from 15:00 to 18:00

On the 10th of December, at the European Parliament, the Greens, European Coordination Via Campesina, ARC2020, Compassion in World Farming, European Milk Board, EuroCoop, FoEE, Slowfood and Corporate Europe Observatory, have organised a conference on the impacts of a potential TTIP agreement on food and farming. Speakers from the food and farming sectors and civil society, and with invited respondents from the European Commission have been invited. Much of the debates on TTIP have focused on questions related to food. In this conference the aim is to get to the heart of these issues: > How could TTIP water down key rules and standards for food and farming, now and in the future? > Will TTIP lead to a further industrialisation of agriculture in Europe, US-style? Who are the ones likely to benefit from an agreement, agribusiness or farmers? Please find enclosed the publication prepared of this event, entitled : " TTIP: A RECIPE FOR DISASTER- EU-US TRADE DEAL BLOCKS FUTURE OF GOOD FOOD AND FARMING"
