The European Coordination Via Campesina supports the German demonstration « Wir haben es satt : Bauernhöfe statt Agrarindustrie» on January 21st in Berlin The European Coordination Via Campesina (ECVC) welcomes the call of the German coalition to demonstrate on January 21st in Berlin in favour of sustainable family farming and gives full support to the demonstration. Yes, agriculture is not that just a matter of farmers and this demonstration is a good example for this. From now 25 years our European coordination has been developing alliances at the national and European level to change deeply the agriculture, food and trade policies in Europe. Facing the disappearing of sustainable family farms, the environmental challenges, and the serious financial and social crisis in Europe, the CAP reform proposal 2014-2020 is not the appropriate answer. Factory farms and industrialized agriculture would continue to develop. Another European agriculture and food policy is possible. That will be clearly and loudly expressed again on Saturday in Berlin. On top of AbL and KLJB, our members in Germany, Irmi Salzer, farmer of ÖBV-Via Campesina from Austria, will be present on next Saturday in Berlin. ECVC wishes the demonstration full success .
