The agenda of the Civil Society Consultation has followed the items of the ERC with the objective to prepare CSO’s inputs to the FAO Regional Conference. The aim of the discussion is to improve understanding of underlying causes of food losses and waste (FLW) along selected food supply chains in developing countries of Europe and Central Asia. During the meeting the implementation of the "International Year of Family Farming” (IYFF) has also been addressed.
In order to ensure the balanced participation of different groups, regions and sectors, a strict quota system has been developed. Priority and fund for representatives of the different constituencies (small-scale producers, artisanal fisherfolks, pastoralist, indigenous or landless organisations, food and rural workers, consumers, woman and youth organisations, NGOs) with an age and gender balance have been given.
