The COVID-19 pandemic has the worst effects on, apart from the very elderly, people suffering from diseases as a result of obesity. It is disturbing that the EU is focusing its health arguments on the consumption of red meat and processed meats while the ultra-processing of plants and beverages is scientifically recognised as a major vector of obesity and related cancers. The ultra-transformation of vegan products eliminates the micro-nutrients and other natural anti-cancers contained in the plants due to the extraction process.
